Digipak Final Draft
Here is our final idea for the digipak. We made it so that I handled the fonts, the title, some of the photos and the order of the songs on the back.

How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of branding?
One of the main focuses of our production was to make
sure that the music video, digipak and website would fit together well when it
came to their themes. We made sure that the photo gallery shown on the website
mainly consisted of the artist playing his gig and hanging out with his fans
because that was one of the main parts of the video that was shown and
portrayed to the viewers. This therefore allows the website and the music video
to both have something in common and therefore this would increase its
marketing success and give it a good sense of branding. Another example of this
is the main photo that we have decided to use for the digipak because it is
a photograph of the artist standing with a guitar in the town where he was
shown busking in the music video. This therefore again allows the video and the
digipak to have something in common and would also create a sense of branding.
Another key feature that gives the elements in our production a sense of
branding is the happy and bright colours that the video, website and digipak
give off because they all share the same optimistic and therefore attractive
theme that would allow them to easily be marketed together as a package. We
also decided to put the album that we are selling as part of the digipak onto
the website so again, this makes the digipak and the website come together and
therefore work together to create a sense of branding.

John Mayer research
John Mayer was born in Bridgeport Connecticut and began playing the guitar at 13 years of age. His main musical inspirations consist of blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King and Buddy Guy. Even though his music relates very closely to the blues and jazz genre, he has also involved himself in the pop industry with more acoustic folk friendly tracks such as "Your body is a wonderland" and "Who says" which makes him a very diverse artist with quite a wide audience.
Since the start of his career, he has released 6 studio albums and gained worlwide recognition as one of the iconic singer songwriters of the new millenium. Ever since his world fame, he has collaborated with artists such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Eric Clapton, BB King and more.

Main Target Audience
The primary audience for John Mayer would be males and females from the age of 15-24 years old as his songs have relevance to emotions and feelings that teens may have. The light element of some of his music would also appeal to a younger fanbase (especially girls).
The secondary audience would consist of people from the age of 25-34+ as some of his electric music would appeal as well to an older audience. Since his electric music is mostly blues based, it has a heavy and complicated element to it and would therefore easily appeal to an older and more mature audience. (Not to say that his light acoustic songs are immature as this is just a generalisation)
Since his music varies and ranges from acoustic folk, pop and electric blues, he is able to have quite a diverse audience which also enables him to have a wider fanbase, thus allowing him to have more revenue for his music.
